The Noah 4c is the 2025 evolution of the Noah4 motherboard.

The additions compared to the Noah4 are as follows:

    3GPP 5G logo     LTE Logo 200px              RAID ready 64x64

  • Support for 4G/5G communication with the M.2 connector under the motherboard.
  • Ability to connect two mSATA drives, making it a fault-resistant system with software RAID supported by FreeBSD, OPNsense, pfsense, Linux, etc.
  • Added TPM connector, allowing the installation of a TPM for software that requires it, such as Windows 11.
  • Added support for a second miniPCIe slot for 4G/LTE modem (up to 3 x 4G/LTE modems with M.2 slot included).
  • Replacement of the Intel I211 network controller with the Intel I210AT, significantly improving network transfer speeds with four transmit/receive queues per port instead of two for the I211.

Noah 4c is reliable and powerful fanless hardware for 24/7 devices and more

  • Industrial environment (router, hardware controller, control panel interface, ...)
  • Telecom (router, IPBX, VoIP gateway, LTE, WiFi controller, etc.)
  • Network (firewall router, aggregator, VPN server, NAS, video surveillance, …)
  • Security (VPN server, analyzer, packet inspector, …)
  • IoT (gateway, concentrator, on-site controller, on-site analyzer, …)
  • Prototyping (proof of concept, Geek hobbyst, …)

Noah4c the replacement alternative for the APU4 board from PC Engines.

The Noah4c was designed with the goal of facilitating the replacement of the PC Engines APU card. All APU users are invited to read our article on the subject.

Controlling LEDs and the push button under Linux

Rack Matrix Technology has developed an open source driver for Linux to manage the 3 LEDs and the push button on the front panel. This driver opens the possibility for all application developers to display different information about their application through the switching on or off of the LEDs as well as an interaction with the push button. We have written an article about its use on our website.
